Spletzer, Dorothy C.

Dorothy C. Spletzer passed away Friday, March 31, 2017 at the age of 90. She was born in Lakeside, MI September 25, 1926 the daughter of Harry G. and Clara (Kieffer) Meier. Dorothy was a licensed cosmetologist and retired as the office manager at Van Buren County Mental Health in 1988. She married Robert Paul Spletzer in 1952 and he preceded her in death in 1976. She was also predeceased by a brother, Durward Meier.
Dottie was a skilled seamstress who enjoyed sewing clothes for everyone in the family. She could create anything from fancy square dance outfits for herself and Bob, to suits, coats, and adorable outfits for her daughters and granddaughters.
Surviving are two daughters, Lee Ann (Terry) Blakely and Janice Fletcher; three granddaughters, Alayna (Ryan) Haynam, Courtney (Jan) Ennis and Madalyn (Scott) Kioski; six great grandchildren, Mirabel, Emmeline and Willis Haynam, Grant and Hale Ennis and Charlie Kioski, one sister Evelyn Carlisle. There will be no services. The family was assisted with these arrangements by Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns.
