MYRON ARTHUR FISHER
Arthur Fisher, 79, of Cass City, died unexpectedly Thursday, March 30, 2017 in his home. He was born October 16, 1937 at home in Greenleaf Township to George Sylvester and Elizabeth (Reitter) Fisher, Sr. He married Jean Nancy Faber January 14, 1961 in St. Peter Lutheran Church, Bach.
Art graduated from Cass City High School in 1955 and went to work for Frutchey Bean elevator. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957. Art worked for over 24 years as a heavy equipment operator with the Tuscola County Road Commission. He was a member of Cass City First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and a trustee. Art traveled to Togo, West Africa where he was instrumental in the construction of an airstrip used by missionaries. Art enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and was skilled in welding and carpentry. He was a proud driver for many Amish families.
Arthur is survived by his wife Jean; sons: Scott (Undine) Fisher of Fayetteville, NC; Larry (Darlene) Fisher of Hope Mills, NC; Blake (Doreese) Fisher of Fayetteville, NC; Aaron (Dya) Fisher of Midland; David (Tracy) Fisher of Snover; 14 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren. Arthur is also survived by his brother George S. Fisher, Jr. of Cass City; sisters: Carol Hartwick of Cass City; Kathaleen (Charles) Hartwick of Cass City, E. Jeanne (John) Shagena of Kingston; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his infant son, Brent Fisher and grandson, Scott Fisher.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2017 in Cass City First Baptist Church with Pastor David Hill officiating. Interment will be in Elkland Township Cemetery. Pallbearers for Mr. Fisher: Zachary Fisher, Samuel Fisher, Isaac Fisher, Nicholas Fisher, Nathan Fisher, Derek Fisher. Memorials may be made to Cass City First Baptist Church.
