Obituary for Martin Vargas Moreno

Funeral services for Martin Vargas-Moreno, 19, of Portales, will be at 10:00 AM, Thurs, April 6, 2017 in the Wheeler Mortuary Chapel with various family members officiating. Burial will be in the Portales Cemetery with Jose Diaz, Jorge Diaz, Julian Vargas, Joshua Vargas, Jerry Vargas, Martin Vargas, David Viera and Miguel Vargas serving as pallbearers.
Martin Vargas Moreno was born Sept. 8, 1987 in Faontana, CA to the home of Gloria and Martin Vargas, and died Mar. 29, 2017 in Lubbock, TX. Martin and his family moved to Portales in 2009, and he graduated from Portales High School in 2015. While he was in school he ran track. Martin was pursuing a degree in Physical Education, and faithfully worked out every day.
He is survived by his father and step-mother, Martin and Marina Vargas, his mother, Gloria Vargas; six brothers, Jose Diaz, Jorge Diaz, Julian Vargas, Joshua Vargas, Jerry Vargas and Kevin Vargas all of Portales; and a step sister, Anna Belle Vallarta of CA.
