William Clarke 95, formerly of Stratford, passed away peacefully at Freeport Hospital, Kitchener on Monday April, 3, 2017.
Beloved husband of the late Wilma (nee Bye) Clarke (2012). Loving father of Don Clarke (Adele) of Kitchener, Ken Clarke of Stratford and Howard Clarke (Chris Hoile) of Toronto. Dear grandfather of Geoff Clarke (Denise) of Cambridge and Michael Clarke (Terry) of Stratford and great grandfather of Ashley and Aliesha Malcho and Tyler, Owen and Keegan Clarke. Survived by his sister Margaret Peers of Halifax, sister-in-law Enid Ripley of Stratford and brother-in-law Robert Bye of Chatham. He will be missed by his nieces, nephews and their families.
Predeceased by his parents James and Ethel (Martyn) Clarke and brother-in-law John Peers.

Bill trained as a radar mechanic at Clinton, Ontario. He served in the #8 Squadron RCAF in British Columbia and in training units in the RAF in Oban Scotland.
He managed the Tamblyn Pharmacy from 1962-1964 and moved on to be the Director of the Pharmacy at Stratford General Hospital from 1964-1979.
Bill was a longtime and active member of Ontario St. Baptist Church.

A gathering for Kitchener and area friends will be held at Highland Place Retirement Home, 20 Field Gate Street, Kitchener on Friday April 7 from 2-3 p.m. in the “Sunshine Room”.

Friends will be received at the James A. Rutherford Funeral Home, 156 Albert St. Stratford on Friday April 7, 2017 from 7-9 p.m. with the funeral service Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment at Avondale Cemetery. Memorial Donations to Ontario Street Baptist Church or the Stratford-Perth Community Foundation may be made through the James A.
