Obituary for Louis A. Rheaume

Louis Arthur Rheaume, 91, of Glastonbury, CT passed away Monday, April 3, 2017 at Hartford Hospital. Louis was born in Norwich, CT and was the son of the late Louis and Rose (Davis) Rheaume. He grew up in Uncasville, CT. and was a graduate of Norwich Free Academy, Pratt Institute and Syracuse University. Louis served his country honorably and was a decorated combat veteran in the U.S. Air Force during WWII. He worked in advertising and eventually formed Lou Rheaume Associates Advertising Agency. Louis enjoyed sailing, skiing, tennis, travel and bridge and he carved birds, made puppets and half models of boats.
Louis is survived by his beloved wife, Betty (Grattidge) Rheaume of Glastonbury, CT, his two daughters – Monette (Hall) Rheaume and her husband George, Chesney Rheaume, his two sons - Chad Rheaume and his wife Ximena, Spenser Rheaume and his wife Pamela, his two grandsons Lucas and Owen Rheaume. Louis was predeceased by his sister Doris Rheaume Marshall.
The Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT has charge of arrangements. Funeral services and burial will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Louis’ memory may be made to the Salvation Army, Gift Processing Center, P.O. Box 509, Hartford, CT. 06104
