HICKEY, Pauline M. Of Arlington. April 7, 2017. Born in Newfoundland on June 23, 1918 to the late Thomas and Jane Doyle. Beloved wife of 58 years to the late Alex Hickey. Loving mother of Jane Tavares, and her husband Manny of Winchester, Bobby Hickey and his wife Lu-Ann of Salem (NH), Rita of Portsmouth (VA), and the late John Hickey and his wife Alice Hickey and the late Thomas Hickey. Devoted grandmother of Chris, Patrick, Lauren (Hickey), Lauren (Fogarty), Matt, Melissa, Sarah, Ryan, and Shannon. Cherished great grandmother of 11. She is survived by her brother Len. She is predeceased by 7 brothers and sisters. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Pauline moved to the United States at age 18 to take care of her aunt’s children in Everett, where she met Alec and raised her family. A proud resident of Winslow Towers in Arlington Center for 20 years, “Nana” Pauline had a great group of friends with whom she enjoyed playing Bingo, drinking coffee, and sharing stories. She valued her loving family and her favorite foods of lobster rolls and macaroni and cheese. She lived independently through age 98 and inspired others with her positive attitude. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 p.m. at DeVito Funeral Home 1145 Massachusetts Ave., Arlington. Funeral Mass at the St. Agnes’ Church on Wednesday at 10 a.m. followed by burial at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Arlington. Relatives and friends invited.
