Obituary for Rev. Martha M. Helman (Shores)

Rev. Martha M. Helman, age 79, of Chambersburg, PA passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2017, at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born July 31, 1937, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Nettie Newell Shores.
Rev. Helman dedicated 25 years, working at the former Stanley Company as a sewing machine operator, retiring in 1979. She later became an ordained minister and was an Associate Pastor at Harvest Time Ministries, retiring in 2012 after preaching the word for over thirty years.
Surviving are three children, Debra McIntosh (husband Charles) of Chambersburg, PA, Michael A. Helman, Jr. (wife Pamela) of Chambersburg, PA, and Steven L. Helman (wife Denise) of Greencastle, PA; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; a sister, Elsie Lindquist of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; and a half brother, William Flory of Chambersburg, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 14, 2017, at 1 PM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where Rev. Murray Stevens will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 13, 2017, from 6 – 9 PM and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens.
