Obituary for Metro Wilbert Tanasichuk

Metro Wilbert Tanasichuk
It is with great sadness, that the family of Matt Tanasichuk announce his passing in the early morning of April 9, 2017.
Matt was born on Feb 25, 1931 in Clanwilliam, Manitoba and by the age of 8 he was driving a team of horses to help support his family. He became a Miner working underground and then worked as a hoistman spending most of those years in Lynn Lake. He married Midge in 1954 and they had 50 happy years together.

Dad loved playing crib, curling, horseshoes and spent hours on the Legion Golf Course. During his years running the hoist, he passed the hours knitting many beautiful sweaters for family and friends. In his retirement, he passed his time by cutting wood, and doing repairs for the Legion and the Church. You could usually find him performing whatever task that Mom volunteered him for. He loved spending time with his family and especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandkids. His last years were spent living in Winnipeg and loved going to McDonalds and Safeway for coffee and the Casino with his daughters.

He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Butch (Winnie), Karen (Clint), Don (Jean), Greg (Barb), Susan and Valerie, 13 Grandchildren, 12 Great-grands, his brother Harold (Margie), Sister Terry, and in-laws Marg, Jim, Jean, Heather, and many nieces and nephews.

Dad requested that no service be held. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, a donation in Dad's name can be made to a charity of your choice.
