Obituary for Sol Maria Rivera

Sol Maria Rivera, age 64 of Bridgeport CT, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, April 9, 2017, at Bridgeport Hospital.
Sol was the oldest of ten children, born in San German, Puerto Rico on January 15, 1953, the beloved daughter of Adrian Martinez and the late Maria Quiles.
Sol was a loving and caring mother of five. Truly living up to her name, Sol’s presence alone could bring light to any room. Her great sense of humor and beautiful smile brought joy to those who had the honor of knowing her. She was an active member of La Senda Antigua Pentecostal Church and will be remembered most for her generosity and kindness. Sol always remained optimistic and took great pleasure in taking care of others.
She is survived by: three daughtesr, Marisol Colón; Sol Aida Rivera; Elisa Rivera; two sons, Angel Colón; Julio Martinez; seven sisters, Evelyn Narvaez; Nilda Nuñes; Adria Rivera; Carmen Rentas; Nydia Adorno; Kissely Martinez; Karmaia Martinez; two brothers, Adnan Martinez; Yammick Martinez; three granddaughters, Bryanna McCray; Sophia Piro; Elizabeth Colón; one grandson, Jeremiah Rivera; and a host of extended family and friends who will cherish her memory.
Friends may greet the family Tuesday, April 18, 2017 from 6pm-8pm and Wednesday, April 19, 2017 from 12pm-1pm at Community Funeral Chapels, 798 Park Ave. Bridgeport, CT. Tel: 203-334-9999.
