James  Earnest   Ratliff
Ratliff City - A gathering for Mr. James Earnest Ratliff, 72, of Ratliff City is scheduled for 6:00 P.M. Monday April 17, 2017 at Alexander Funeral Home of Ratliff City with Rev. Mike Johnston officiating. Services are under the care of Alexander Gray Crematory.
James was born on July 26, 1944 at Ardmore to the late Mr. James "Joe" William Ratliff and Mrs. Hazel Earnestine (Fogle) Ratliff. He departed this life Wed. April 12, 2017 at his home in Ratliff City.
James was raised at Graham attending school mostly at Fox. He entered the U.S. Navy on June 29, 1963 and served as a fuel system maintenance man on the USS Enterprise. He received his honorable discharge on July 7, 1967. He returned to this area where he spent all of his working years employed in the Oil Patch.
James married the former Ms. Phyllis Savage on May 25, 1984 at Wichita Falls, TX. They lived in Velma and then Ratliff City. James enjoyed coon hunting and coyote hunting. He will be remembered as one who loved to aggravate and was always loud and full of life.
Preceding him in death are his Parents and a grandson, Josh Hensley.
Survivors include his wife Phyllis of the home; sisters, Sue Watkins of Graham and Jo Ann Hicks of Little Ax; son, Jeff Tivis and wife Sheri of Ratliff City; grandchildren, Carrie and Kasi Tivis; great grandchildren, Carrisa and Cassie Richardson and Braidyn Tivis; daughters, Gala Lockwood and husband Gary of Ratliff City and Cindy Stevens of Healdton; grandsons, Joey Hensley and wife Justin and Gracie Lockwood; numerous other family and friends.
