Memories
Alvin and Almeda were the first to greet us as we drove into the driveway of the parsonage on June 30, 2005. There were hugs and more hugs as they showed us through the beautiful parsonage that we lived in for 6 years. They were the greats years of our ministry.
Alvin was our "sitter" for our dog Butch when Larry would make all the trips to UPMC. Then there was May 2006 when Alvin took carry of Butch for a month. Butch knew when Alvin came Larry and I were going somewhere.
And then came spring and summer and Alvin would be in the ball field with that crazy lawn mower zippen around about 90 miles an hour. He always had a hat on and the brighter the sun got they wider the brim of the hat got. On those hot days he would come and sit on the patio and drink a cold glass of lemonade.
Alvin was the kindess, gentlest and God fearing man I have ever known. He loved his God, his family and country.
