Condolences

Condolence From: Dory Meier
Condolence: Marianne was an important part of my life.  I got to know her when we were all single and footloose at IBM Time/Life in New York City.  What a wonderful time and place to be free and happy.  Marianne was always active and doing something - sailing with Charlie Wadsack, visiting the IBM Country Club in Sands Point and doing handstands there, going out to the Hamptons where she made many new friends and had new adventures. And how many times after work did we meet at the office pub and discuss what was going on at work and in our own lives. I couldn't have asked for a more fun person to have as a companion!

When IBM Time/Life closed in 1974 we kept in touch sporadically, mainly at Christmastime.  We visited her in New Jersey when her children were young and later in Franklin Lakes after they had left home.  She invited me to spend time with her in South Beach and introduced me to some of her new friends there.  Marianne had a wonderful ability to meet people with different backgrounds and to see the uniqueness in them. And I loved her sense of humor, the way she could be amused even when things didn't go her way. Like Teddy's college graduation.

I shall miss her ever so much.  She was part of my life at important times.  And you, Ted, Veronica, Melanie and Teddy, will miss her even more. Please accept my condolences.

Dory

Condolence: Marianne celebrated her 21st birthday at her brother's and my wedding. She was the sweetest, most loving, caring , compassionate, courageous, adventurous, determined woman I have ever met. She would let nothing hold her back, no matter how challenging the situation was. When she met Ted, she did not want to choose between her 2 sisters as to who would be her matron-of-honor, so she wisely asked her sister-in-law to be in the wedding, thereby not hurting anyone's feelings. I was honored to participate in their wedding. Unfortunately, over the years the miles between us kept us from being as close as we were, but my children would always adore her as the wonderful Aunt that she was. So sorry I can't be there in person to convey my sympathies in person, but she will always hols a special place in my heart. God will receive her into His loving arms and surely will say of her life Well done. My prayers love are with all of her family. I was blessed to have had her in my life. RIP, Marianne, and thank you for all you did for me and my family.

Condolence: I am so saddened by the loss of one of my childhood idols and beloved Aunt Mare. There have been so many times in my life that I have been able to stand as a proud woman knowing that she paved the way for the females in our family, accomplishing all that she did and so graciously. Her kindness and love for her family and us all will never be forgotten. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Much love, Angel

Condolence: Growing up I spent a lot of time at grandma's and grandpa Heiberts and Aunt Marianne was definitely part of those fond memories. She was the first person I knew to wear a bikini and what a knockout she was with her bleached blonde hair. She would come in after a hard days work and turn around and get ready for a night of partying. Then she moved to New York to work for IBM. A woman in a man's world. What a trailblazer. On one of her visits home she had Char and June and all of us kids learning to do the twist. What fun! How we loved her and looked up to her in awe. I never thought of her leaving us. I just couldn't imagine it. Ted, Veronica, Mel and Teddy my heart aches for you and your loss. She will truly be missed. Keeping you covered in prayer, hugs and love.
