Condolence: Albert was a longtime colleague and always a strong and thoughtful contributor to the study of the history of religion at Harvard. His many years of service on the Committee on the Study of Religion were important to everyone involved, and his scholarly contributions especially in Manichaean studies remain not just important but key to that field. As a friend, his wry sense of humor and always astute advice were notable to anyone who knew him. We all shall miss him and mourn his much-too-early departure from our midst.
Condolence: This world would be a better place in every way if there were more people like Albert in it. I am so sorry for his loved ones, and everyone in the Harvard Classics community. I will miss him, he meant a lot to me, and his kindness always meant a lot to me.
