Janet Mary Lykens, 78, of Philipsburg, passed away Monday, April 17, 2017 at Mount Nittany Medical Center in College Township. Born on March 31, 1939 in Clearfield, PA, to the late Edward and Susan Sotak. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel C. Lykens, Jr. on December 27, 2014.

Janet was a graduate of Philipsburg High School and was a homemaker.

She is survived by three sons: Greg Lykens of Tyrone, David Lykens of Port Matilda, and Chris Lykens (Kacie) of Bellefonte, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Dorothy Halsnik of Philipsburg and two brothers: Johnny Sotak of Chambersburg and Edward Sotak of Snow Shoe.

She loved going shopping and eating out.

Friends will be received on Friday, April 21, 2017 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 120 W. Lamb Street, Bellefonte. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am at the church with Reverend Christopher V. Pyles, Rector officiating. Burial will follow at Centre County Memorial Park, State College.
