Frankfort – Judith Ann “Judy” Ellis Thompson, age 74, passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2017. Services for Mrs. Thompson will be held at First Christian Church on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Meredith Siler officiating. A private committal service will be observed. The family will receive friends at First Christian Church on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Mrs. Thompson was born in Frankfort, Kentucky on March 25, 1943 to the late Ray William and Edith Earl Vance Ellis. She was united in marriage to Gene Paul Thompson, who preceded her in death. Following her retirement from the Kentucky State Department of Parks, she retired from the Kentucky Legislative Research Commission. She was a longtime member and Elder of First Christian Church. There, she also enjoyed being a member of the Tubman – Nunnelly Circle. She truly loved her family, friends, and church family.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Virginia Carolyn Gilchrist and Joyce Sue Ellis.

She is survived by her daughter, Jana R. Thompson; her grandson, Armand Guerrero; siblings, Jerry Ray (Carole) Ellis, Glenn William (Angela) Ellis, and Joan Vance (Ronald Jay) Elswick; and by her son-in-law, Pablo Guerrero. She was also blessed with many nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jodie Elswick, Eron Elswick, Todd Ellis, Bill Robinson, Justin Ellis, Jordan Ellis, and Noah Alvarez.
