Condolence: J.D., as I knew him, was a smart, hardworking colleague and a kind and thoughtful friend who, thirty years after I left PSU, still sent letters and birthday cards and updates on Centre County! How many friends stay in touch in such a meaningful way?

J.D., I will miss you. And I know many others will too. Thanks for your generosity and humor. And my sympathy to those who were blessed to have him in their lives on a regular basis. Rest in peace, my friend.

Condolence: John: You were the glue that held our crazy sports department together during the 1970s at the Pa. Mirrow newspaper. I forgot long ago why you guys called it the "Mirrow." We had all the fun while you held down the fort. The only thing you asked in return was that our gymnastics coverage would rival that of the football team. You and Jane wrote some fantastic stories about the gymnasts and Gene Wettstone. You were Gymnastics Writer of the Year every year.
But you were more than that. You were a mentor and a friend right thru the last time we spoke, two springs ago, at that bar down the mountain from Centre Hall. Sort of missing you tonight, Beaver. -- Terry
