Obituary for Charles R. Wiggins

Charles Ray Wiggins, 76, of Kenosha, joined the Lord on Monday, April 24, 2017.
Born on August 7, 1940, in Colorado City, Texas, to his parents, the late Charles P. and Mae (Jackson) Wiggins.
He spent most of his young life in Colorado City before proudly enlisting in the U.S. Navy on May 14, 1964. During his years of service, he was awarded several medals and distinctions relating to his service in Vietnam.
After arriving at Naval Station Great Lakes, he met his love and bride, Rhetta Quandt, and were united in marriage on December 11, 1965.
Following his naval service, Charlie gained employment as an electrician for Snap-On Tools, from which he retired from in 2001.
Charlie performed the role of Deacon at Parkside Baptist Church where he humbly took on the work of spreading the Gospel. In addition, he enjoyed fellowship with friends and family playing fast pitch softball, bowling, fishing and other sports and activities.
Survivors include his wife, Rhetta Wiggins of Kenosha; four children, Laurette (Jeffrey) Haines of Kenosha, Charles A. (Wendy) Wiggins of Kenosha, Michelle Wiggins of Kenosha, and Raymond (April) Wiggins of Racine; a sister, Kay (Bud) Jackson of Longview, TX; and six grandchildren, Makena, Alexander, Lauren, Zachary, JoHannah, and Collin.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Joy Morris.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 28th, at Parkside Baptist Church, 2620 14th Place, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Parkside Baptist Church would be appreciated by the family.
