He graduated from St. Patrick’s School and was a proud member of the Norwich Free Academy class of 1948, where he excelled as an athlete and made many lifelong friends. After graduating from the University of Connecticut in 1952, he served in the U.S. Army until his honorable discharge in 1954 and began a successful career in sales that spanned nearly 50 years.

On April 26, 1958 he was united in marriage to Margaret Confrey at the Cathedral of St. Patrick. Bob was a member of the Holy Name Society, the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, and Pautipaug Golf Club, and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and UConn Women’s Basketball.

He is survived by his wife, Peg, his daughters, Susan Sullivan, Judy Eagan and her husband Owen, Lynda Twomey and her husband Tom, and Cathleen Special. He was a proud grandfather to Caley, Maura and Owen Eagan; Bobby, Meg and Kiera Sullivan; Colleen, Allison and Meghan Twomey; and Danny and Erin Special. He also leaves several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Richard and sons-in-law Tom Sullivan and David Special, and nephew William Confrey. The family would like to thank Paulette, Judy and the entire staff of Harrington Court for treating Bob with compassion, dignity and respect. Bob was known for his devotion to God and family, his hearty laugh and ever-present smile. He will be remembered by all who knew him as an example of a life well-lived. We will cherish his memory and love him always.
