Before they were married, our daughter Emily and Jonathan had been good friends for many years. In 1997 we purchased a vacation home in Crested Butte. The first winter we encouraged our kids to bring a friend. To our surprise, Emily asked if she could invite her friend Jonathan. We got to know our future son in law on that trip. it was clear that he had a good upbringing. When we got home, we were greeted with a beautiful coconut cream pie made by Margaret Ann, a real treasure. The pie was wonderful, but Margaret Ann was the treasure. Years later Joe and Margaret Ann made the long drive to Crested Butte to attend our sons wedding, a journey above and beyond the call of duty. The wedding photographer captured a beautiful photo Margaret Ann holding our mutual 15 month old grandson Owen in her arms, fast asleep, during the loud and lively wedding reception. That is how we'll remember her.
