Obituary for James Allen Ridings
James “Jim” Ridings
Funeral services for Mr. James “Jim” Ridings of West Monroe, LA will be 1:00pm Saturday, April 29, 2017 in the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe with Rev. Tony Cassels officiating. Interment will follow at Clark Springs Baptist Cemetery in Eros, LA under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11:00am until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Ridings was born September 3, 1941 in Higginson, AR to the late Bonnie Magee of Garner, AR and Warren G. Ridings of St. Peters, MO, and passed from this life on April 26, 2017 at his home in West Monroe at the age of 75. He served four years in the United States Air Force. He retired as a certified heating and air technician. He loved hunting, fishing, woodworking, spending time with family, friends and his beloved pets.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; Jonathon and Annie Ridings; one sister, Mary Snook; four brothers, Warren E. Ridings, Mike Ridings, Eldon McDonald and Ricky Ridings; and his companion of 17 years Shirley Crowell.
Survivors include his sister, Carolyn Arellano and husband, Chico of Kensett, AR and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family who loved “Uncle Jim” or “Poppa J”.
Pallbearers will be Philip Snelson, Dakota Snelson, Guy Miller, Skyler Stafford, Troy Golson and David Golson.
