Phyllis Elizabeth Van Gotum, 81, of Watkinsville, died Wednesday, April 26, 2017. She was born in Key West, Florida to the late Bernard J. Cruz and Mary Elizabeth Lowe Cruz. Phyllis was a graduate of Florida State and retired from the University of Georgia.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Joseph Van Gotum, daughter, Caryl Elizabeth Smith and son, Paul Joseph Van Gotum.
She is survived by children; Gayle Katherine Burnham (Mike Pasquale), John Bernard Van Gotum (Becky), William Anthony Van Gotum, son-in-law, Freddie Smith, grandchildren; Adam J. Smith, Kayla Dawn Minish (Stanley), Brad Van Gotum, Ashley Jones (Josh), Shelbie Williams (Lewis), Brayton Van Gotum, Wesley Van Gotum, and Paul Van Gotum Jr. (Jill), great grandchildren; Katie Van Gotum, Braxton Minish, Joshua Van Gotum, Christian Jones, Kalani Jones, Rylee Minish, and Evelyn Williams.
