Carol Ann  Heath
Carol Ann (Altwicker) Heath, 78, of Kimball, SD passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at the Aurora-Brule Nursing Home in White Lake, SD. During her lifetime, she inspired and touched everyone who knew her with her heart of gold, compassion, her unwavering strength, her devoted faith, and her desire to live a meaningful life.

Funeral Mass is 10:30 A.M. Monday, May 1, 2017 at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Kimball. A Committal Service will follow at St. Margaret’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Sunday, April 30, 2017 with a 7:00 P.M. Wake Service and Rosary.

Carol was born March 2, 1939 to Clarence and Marie (Enright) Altwicker in Chamberlain, SD. She married the love of her life, August “Gus” Heath on October 20, 1955 at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Kimball, SD. Married 61 years, they raised their six dear children: Debbie (Roche) Gillen of Kimball, Tim (Nancy) Heath of Kimball, Pam (Babe) Pickner of Kimball, Lori Kenobbie of Vermillion, Kevin (Lexie) Heath of Kimball and Jodi (Rob) Kirschenman of Tea. They are blessed with 30 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.

Carol was the rock of her family, displaying a tireless Catholic Christian example and shaping the spirituality of her family through church stewardship, organizations, and being an exceptional role model of love, compassion, and a true heart for her Savior. Carol loved life, creating any opportunity to get together with family and friends to play cards, visit, and share her magnificent cooking and baking.

Having shared her glorious life are numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Marie Altwicker; an infant brother, Robert; a sister, Melva Jo Gough; her daughter, Pamela Pickner; grandchildren, Bryce Heath and Monte Pickner; great-grandchildren: Landon Nelson, Hannah Gregory and Harper Gillen; and father/mother-in-law, Ben and Regina Heath.

Mom was a true inspiration to each of us kids with her incredible strength, constant nurturing love and faith, her signature gift of joy, her constant smile, and calming demeanor.
