Obituary for Joseph R "Ski" Magierowski Sr.

SPENCER- Joseph "Ski" R. Magierowski Sr.,80, of Brooks Pond Rd. died Thursday, April 27,2017 surrounded by his family.

He leaves a son Joseph R. Magierowski Jr. & his wife Lori; 2 daughters Luann Florida & her husband Scott and Krystal Green & her husband Joe all of Spencer; a sister Rita Anderson of East Douglas; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Beverly and sisters Ruthy and Marie.

Ski was born in Worcester the son of Stephen and Antoinette (Morse) Magierowski and was a US Navy Veteran serving in the Korean War. He worked as a call E.M.T. and firefighter for the Town of Spencer. He also worked for Reed-Rico of Holden, American Steel & Aluminum of Auburn and most recently Fisher Auto Parts.

Ski enjoyed bowling, horseshoes, pitch, fishing and his occasional trips to the casino. He was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed watching the Patriots with his family and friends. Ski was a member of the Spencer Fish and Game Club. He enjoyed driving and spending time with his wife Beverly. Ski helped initiate the “Alzheimer’s Run” which was a motorcycle ride that raised funds for the Golden Living Nursing Home in Worcester, where his wife Beverly was cared for prior to her passing.

A "Celebration of Life" for Ski will be held on Sunday, May 7,2017 from 2-6PM at the Spencer Fish and Game 155 Mechanic St.in Spencer. Pillsbury Funeral Home 163 Main St. Spencer is assisting the family with arrangements.
