David A  Patrick Sr.
David A. Patrick, age 77, passed away on April 15, 2017, at home. A private memorial will be held at a later date.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. B.H. Patrick, Sr. and his brothers, B.H. Patrick, Jr. and Charles H. Patrick.
David is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carolyn H. Patrick; sons, Lane Patrick of Northport and David Patrick, Jr. of Tuscaloosa; daughter, Shannon Scott of Vestavia Hills; and grandchildren, Madeline Cook, John David Patrick, Wilson Patrick and Anna Scott.
David was born September 1, 1939 in Gulfport, Miss. The family later moved to Tuscaloosa, where he spent the rest of his life. He graduated from Tuscaloosa High School in 1957. He also attended Livingston University, UAB and The University of Alabama.
He was a Navy veteran, serving with Airborne Early Warning Squadron No. 14 during the Cold War. David was proud of his military service, and often talked about it. David held several supervisory and management positions with The B.F. Goodrich Tire Company for 32 years.
After retirement, he worked for 20 years with the Event Staff at The University of Alabama. His favorite time after retirement was babysitting two of his grandchildren. His grandchildren affectionately called him "Gandy".
