Gerald V. Brand
TROY Gerald V. Brand, 60, of 7th Ave. passed away Tuesday May 2, 2017 at Samaritan Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born in Troy he grew up in Maplewood and was a 1974 graduate of Watervliet High School. He was son of the late Lillian and Walter Crogan and Victor Brand.

Gerald had been employed at Samaritan Hospital for nearly 25 years and retired in 2012. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hiking, camping and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his loving wife Robin Harwood Brand, his devoted children Jeremy Brand (Jennifer) of Watervliet, Adam Brand (Kellie) of Colonie, Stephen Conroy (Nicole) of Troy, Matthew Conroy (Laura) of Watervliet and Ashley Brand of Ticonderoga. He is the brother of Bonnie Sicko (Mike), Terri Skawinski (Dale) of Watervliet, Randy Brand (Ruth) of Cohoes, Vicki Kelso (Bruce) of Petersburgh and Daniel Brand (Donna) of Latham. He is the proud grandfather of Hannah, Tolkien, Nathaniel, Avery and Arya. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte. 32), Waterford. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Waterford.

Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday from 4-8 p.m.

Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Assoc. or the Juvenile Diabetes Assoc.
