Obituary for Réjean Joseph Roy
Roy, Rejean Joseph - With profound sadness the family announces the death of Mr Rejean Roy at the Temiskaming Hospital on Wednesday May 3, 2017 at the age of 76 years.
Born at St-Bruno de Guigues on January 1, 1941 to the late Edouard Roy and to the late Fabiola Forget, Mr Roy was a long time resident of Haileybury and area. He will be remembered as a kind and generous man, always giving of himself unselfishly. Upon his retirement from the Sherman Mine, Rejean was able to spend more time playing the violin and he often volunteered his time at the local nursing homes to share his musical talent with the residents. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. His presence will be missed.
Mr Roy is predeceased by his parents and by his siblings Roger Roy, Marielle Roy and Julia Morel. He is the loving husband of 51 years to Denise Roy [nee Deshaies]; loving father of Christine Bastien, Roger and his wife Louise Séguin and Jenny and her husband Jody Goodwin. Cherished grandfather of Trysta, Karyssa, Jessica, David, Mariah and Jacob. Also surviving are his siblings Estelle, Jacqueline, Richard, Francine, Ronald as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
The family of the late Rejean Roy will welcome friends at the Buffam Leveille Funeral Home on Sunday May 7, 2017 from 7:00 -9:00pm and again on Monday May 8, 2017 from 9:00am -10:15am. Funeral mass will be celebrated from Holy Cross Catholic Church on Monday May 8, 2017 at 11:00am. Father Alexis O'Lenga officiating. As an expression of sympathy contributions may be made to the Temiskaming Lung Association. Condolences, contributions and memorial candles may be left at www.buffamleveille.com.
