Mrs. Eula Jeanette Comer Russell, of Simpsonville SC, formerly from Rock Hill, SC, passed away on May 3, 2017. She was born on November 4, 1919 in York County to John Stoll Comer, Sr and Annie Lee Roach Comer. She graduated from Rock Hill High School in 1937 and graduated from the National Institute of Dyers and Cleaners in 1939. She retired as manager from One Hour Martinizing of Rock Hill. She was a long time member of St. John's Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Reid Russell, father, John Stoll Comer, Sr, mother, Annie Lee Roach Comer. She is survived by a brother, H. Leon Comer, Sr, two daughters, Laura Simpson (William R. Simpson III) of Rock Hill, SC and Sammy Adams (Ira B. Adams) of Easley, SC, grandchildren, Boyce Adams (Ginger Hollis Adams) of Rock Hill, SC, Reid Adams (Lucas Dieter Adams) of Charleston, SC and Lauran Simpson-Pettit of Rock Hill, SC, great grandchildren, Joshua Adams (Ashley P. Adams), Ashley L. Adams, Joshua Pettit, all of Rock Hill, SC, Eliza Adams of Charleston, SC and a number of special nieces and nephews. Eula Comer Russell will be remembered this side of heaven, lovingly, by her family and many friends, first for her love for each of them and then for her God given gift of a lifetime of creating beautiful things, special things, for so many! She always added her own "special touch"! Her love for the arts, her custom dressed sock monkeys, her beautiful flags and banners, her pretty tables, set for each changing season, were some of her many creations shared with others through her many years with us, also a gift of God for her and those of us who knew and loved her!Her beautiful creations will be held in our hearts and our hands until we see her again!!! In thanksgiving to God for his gift of her to us, both family and friends! A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, May 10, at St. John's Methodist Church, 321 S Oakland Ave in Rock Hill, Sc at 10 am. Visitation will follow in the Family Life Center. In lieu of flowers, Memorials should be made to the St. Johns Building Fund and Open Arms Hospice at McCall Hospice House, 1836 Georgia Rd, Simpsonville, SC 29680.
