Mary Lue Heading Williams, born June 14, 1911 went home to be with the Lord on May 7, 2017, one month before her 106th birthday. Predeceased by parents Brooks and Talitha Benton Heading, her husband, Herman Williams and siblings, Harvil, Rufus, Thurston, Pete, Pattie, Wilma and Beatrice. Mary grew up in Seven Paths and walked to Pine Ridge School, a one room, one teacher school and later bused to Edward Best School.

She moved to Mapleville at 17, later married in 1936 and began a life of farming. She was an excellent seamstress, cook and loved to garden vegetable and flowers. She loved the Lord and Maple Springs Baptist Church where she was a member for over 89 years. Upon Herman’s death in 1977, she received her driver’s license and continued to drive until the age of 103. She was a giving, loving lady, who helped with grandchildren, great-grandchildren and attentive to sick and elderly family and friends. A special thanks to Louisburg Manor for their loving and excellent care during the last eight months of her life.

She is survived by daughter, Jean Lloyd (Ned); grandsons, Greg (Rhonda) and Tim; and great grandchildren, Scottie (Lauren), Mary Catherine, Aaron and Nicholas and many beloved nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 7 to 8:30 pm at Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services, 804 N. Bickett Blvd., Louisburg, N. C. 27549. Funeral service will be held Thursday at 2:00 pm at Maple Springs Baptist Church with Reverend Jason Havens officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
