SHARP, Roy Allan
Passed away peacefully at the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital with family by his side, on Monday, May 8, 2017 at age 74. Predeceased by his loving wife Sharon. Dear father of Shelly-Lyn Sharp of Callander, Deborah-Lee Dickie (Patrick) of Oakville and Jeffrey Sharp (Kelly) of Bracebridge. Loving grandfather of Victoria, Laura, Brendan, Marissa and Emily. Brother of Don Sharp of Val Caron and Gord Sharp of Calgary. Special thanks to Gavin Mahar, Dr. Keith Cross and the caring staff at SMMH. Born in Toronto. Roy was raised in Orillia and eventually settled in Bracebridge where he and Sharon spent many happy and successful years raising their family and creating life-long friendships through Kinsmen and his employment with Canada Post. Roy rose to the position of Postmaster in 1979. A charitable and generous man, Roy had a love for the outdoors and a passion for people and conversation. A consummate problem solver, Roy persevered through life and many health challenges with courage, dignity and wisdom. You set a tremendous example for us Dad and our respect and appreciation is everlasting. Rest in peace now. We are proud of you and all that you have accomplished. As an expression of sympathy, please consider donations to the Bracebridge United Church, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held at the Bracebridge United Church on Tuesday May 16th, 2017 at 11:00 am. Arrangements entrusted to Reynolds Funeral Home of Bracebridge.
