Obituary for Estelle C. Raucci

South Plainfield, NJ - Estelle C. (McGarry) Raucci, 84, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at the Holly Center at Arbor Glen located in Bridgewater. Born in Manhattan, NY, she has spent most of her life in South Plainfield.

Estelle had a passion for work and in her early years worked at the famous Paramount Theater in NYC where she met her husband. After eloping, she and her husband worked at the Somerville Drive-In while living on the property. Later on, Estelle worked in the town of Somerville for Natpac, a home freezer meat packing service as their top Marketing and Sales Executive.

Eventually, she became Custodian for the Warren Township Board of Education. She had an incredible work ethic! In the many years of her employment, she neither missed a day of work nor took a sick day off. She loved cooking, entertaining and most of all enjoyed traveling at the spur of the moment. Estelle lived in South Plainfield for fifty-seven years and belonged to Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield.

Predeceased by her husband Joseph in 2000, her parents and siblings; Estelle leaves behind her loving son, Michael A. Raucci and his wife Diana along with four cherished grandchildren; Cris, Elyssa, Joseph and Steven.

Visitation will take place on Monday, May 15, 2017 from 4-7 pm in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, NJ 07080. On Tuesday, May 16, 2017, everyone is invited to gather directly for a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in South Plainfield. Estelle will be laid to rest beside her husband at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Estelle’s name may be sent to the SP PBA 100, 2480 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield.
