Obituary for Rosemary A. Plaufcan

Rosemary A.  Plaufcan
Rosemary A. Plaufcan, 68, of Shenango Township, passed away the morning of May 10, 2017 at UPMC Jameson Hospital. Born on March 23, 1949 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Domenick and Antoinette Passifume Benincase. Surviving at home is her beloved husband of 44 years, George Plaufcan Sr., whom she married on December 28, 1972.

Rosemary managed Big K Liquidators for 10 years, and she later worked as a clerk for WalMart Pharmacy for 13 years. She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church. Rosemary was an avid Pirates fan, and she enjoyed cooking. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially during holidays, and decorating for the holidays.

In addition to her husband, Rosemary is survived by her children, Julie DiVitto and husband John of North Canton, OH, Andrea Plaufcan and Norman Panella of New Castle, and George Plaufcan Jr. and Julie Johnston of Rockport, TX; brother, David Benincase of Hillsville, PA; sister-in-law, Misun Benincase of Ellwood City, PA; grandchildren, Nicholas DiVitto, Marisa DiVitto, Christopher DiVitto, Kristin Panella, and Katie Panella; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Patrick, Thomas, and Mark Benincase.

Visitation will be held Monday from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S Mill St. Blessing services will be conducted Monday at 1:00pm at the funeral home, officiated by Father Frank Almade.

Entombment will take place in Parkside Mausoleum.
