Guy V. Hoover, 103, of Chambersburg passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at the Shook Home. He was born February 4, 1914 in Chambersburg, the son of the late Abram M. and Mary (Zullinger) Hoover. A lifelong member of King Street church, he taught Sunday school for 27 years and was a member of the Board of Administration. He graduated from C. H. S. in 1932 and Pierce College in 1935. Guy was an accountant for the Chambersburg Engineering Company from 1939 to 1981. He was a member of the National Association of Accountants and the Potomac Association of Accountants. He enjoyed photography, woodworking and gardening. Surviving are: his daughter, Brenda Hoover Heist, four grandchildren: Elizabeth D. McKinney, Stanley H. Heist III, Robert J. Hoover, David J. Hoover; five great grandchildren: Jacob L. McKinney, Madeline R. McKinney, Trinity Hoover, Grace Heist, Taylor Carins and a niece, Shelda Kell Neubaum. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Grace E. (Hunsecker) Hoover and son, Robert E. Hoover. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at the William F. Sellers Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Cook officiating. There will be a visitation at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Norland Cemetery.
