Obituary for Charles Ashley Phipps

Charles Ashley Phipps, age 33 a resident of Barbourville, KY passed away Thursday, May 11, 2017 at his home. He was born April 27, 1984 in Middlesboro, KY to Paul Phipps and Geri Brooks McCool. He had served in the United States Army from 2006 until 2009.
He was preceded in by his grandparents Oscar and Irene Phipps, Jack Brooks and great-grandparents Gillis and Abbie Brooks.
Survivors include his parents Paul (Paula) Phipps of Barbourville, KY, and Geri (David) McCool of North Port, AL; brother Steve (Brooke) Phipps of Barbourville, KY; sister Whitney (Derek) Godsey of Vernon, AL; nieces and nephews, Haley Phipps, Savannah Phipps, Spencer Phipps, Jordan Godsey, Camden Godsey and Harper Godsey; grandmother June Brooks; stepsisters Tiffany Wilder, Jessica Freeman both of Pineville, KY and Kendra Sexton of Barbourville, KY; A host of aunts and uncles, cousins and friends. Special thanks to George Fuson, Gib Taylor, Mike Carroll, Terry Carroll, Keith Bays, Paul Wayne Goodin and Ebenezer Baptist Church family.
Funeral services will be 4PM on Sunday May 14, 2017 at Brooks-Durham Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Bays and Rev. Paul Wayne Goodin; music will be provided by Ebenezer Baptist Church choir; burial will follow in Carroll Cemetery on Hwy 92 with special friends as pallbearers, Herbert Sanchez, Rick Lane, Matt McCool, John Michael Campbell, Yancey Hall, Todd Hall, John Levi and Clay Carroll.
The family will receive friends Sunday May 14, 2017 after 1pm until the funeral hour at 4PM at Brooks-Durham Funeral Home. The Brooks-Durham Funeral Home is honored to serve the Phipps family
