Obituary for Betty Ann Garnsey

Betty Ann Garnsey went home to be with the Lord on May 14, 2017. She was born in Pensacola, FL on August 17, 1936 in her home on East Lloyd Street. She is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Fred Garnsey; her parents, Lee and Annie Guernsey; and two brothers. She is survived by her son, Robert Garnsey (Teddy); Daughter, Karen Nixon (David); grandchildren, Elizabeth Nims (Patrick); and Tim Nixon (Rachel); and 3 great grandsons, whom she loved dearly.
Mrs. Garnsey was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and knew her Bible well. Those close to her at church referred to her as “Teacher,” because she was a wealth of knowledge. She and her husband Fred, led the church youth group in their younger years and taught Sunday School among many other things in the church. She will be greatly missed by all those who came to know her.
