Gayna Dean Eldred, of Blackwell, passed into the arms of her Savior and joined her daughters in heaven on Saturday, May 20, 2017. Visitation will be held all day Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at the funeral home with family present to receive visitors from 4-6. Graveside services will be held at 3:00p.m., Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Blackwell Cemetery with Reverend Jeff White officiating. The Blackwell Baptist Church is providing a meal at noon, the day of the service for family and friends. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.
Gayna was born in Colorado City, Texas on July 14, 1934 to Raymond Browne and Catherine Lucille McFarland Browne. She met and married the love of her life, Buddy Eldred. Gayna was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who took great pride as a homemaker. She loved caring for and tending to her family. Gayna spent a lot of her time putting together a cook book of her mother’s, mother-in-law’s and her own recipes so that her children and grandchildren could pass this down for generations to come. Gayna was also a member of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two daughters, Diane Cantrell and Gaylene Daniels.
Gayna is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Buddy Eldred; son, Steve Eldred and wife Syndi; brother, Randy Browne and wife Cheryl; sister, Judy Rhodes; ten grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
