More than a teacher

I am the Business Office Manager at Pointe Frontier.  Not only did I have the priviledge of serving Mr. Tuggle as one of our cherished residents but I also had the priviledge of having Mr Tuggle as my 10th grade History teacher at East High in 1971.  Even though he would tell everyone to call him Frank, I could only call him Mr Tuggle as that was who he was to me.

I can honestly say, he was one of my favorite teachers and he did make a great impact on my life as I know he had done for many of his students.  When he came to live at Pointe Frontier, I was amazed that he remembered me after I introduced myself.  He remembered my parents and my class.  I would kid him and say that I learned more about football than History.  You see, my particular class had three to four females and the rest were all football players, in fact I think we could have possibly had the whole football team.  When we didn't want to listen to history, the guys would get him started on different plays or a big game coming up.  There were even times when Mr. Tuggle himself I think wanted a break from History and would talk football for a couple of minutes or too.

He would also tell us about his dream of working with the FBI or CIA.  He explained that he could not be accepted because he was color blind so he contiuned to teach History as that also was a passion of his.   He would also explain that because of his color blindness his wife would set out his clothes for him to wear.  I can't help but smile as I remember he would come into class from time to time with some really interesting outfit colors - saying that he had had a fight with the wife and he had to pick out his own clothes that day.

I will always remember his different sense of humor, still teaching me to this day in his own Mr Tuggle way.   May your family find comfort and for you a lasting peaceful rest,

Thank you Mr Tuggle for all that you have given and the endearing inspriation for all of us who were fortunate to have you as our teacher.

May God Bless
