Obituary for Mark Allan Cooper

Mark Allan Cooper
Mark Allan Cooper, a resident of Hillsboro, Oregon, died May 26, 2017 in Hillsboro. He was 57 years of age.

Mark is survived by his wife, Kathleen; daughter, Jennifer and her husband Shaun Lacey, son; Benjamin; mother, Robbie Cooper and brother, Robert and his wife Kathy Cooper.

Mark was born on December 9, 1959 in Redwood City, California and was the son of Robert and Robbie Thompson Cooper. Mark was a Cub Scout and Boy Scout, played the piano and even did some tap-dance recitals when he was young. He graduated from Woodside High School and attended painter’s school to earn his journeyman’s card while working with Castro Painting in Mountain View. Some of his early projects included: working on Moffett Field in Sunnyvale for Lockheed Martin, powder-coating medical equipment for Adept Technology and roofing for Abby Roofing in Millbrae.

On December 14, 1985, he married Kathleen Treacy in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. In 1989, they moved to Oregon residing in Tigard, Vernonia, Aloha and later Hillsboro where Mark owned and operated ProMark Painting for nearly 28 years.

Mark was a patient family man who loved his wife and was incredibly proud of his children. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time outside in nature. Mark took great pride in caring for his yard, and was often found meticulously cleaning his tools and equipment late into the evenings. He was friendly and cherished by friends and neighbors, always willing to lend a helping hand to those who needed it. He had a quick and witty sense of humor that brought tremendous joy to those around him. Mark loved his children and wanted nothing but the best for them. He was thrilled to see Jennifer graduate from the University of Oregon in 2007 and overjoyed to share the father-daughter dance at her wedding to Shaun Lacey in the summer of 2016. Mark was also looking forward to Ben’s high school graduation and future endeavors.

A visitation will be on Friday, June 2, 2017 from 12:00 – 4:00 pm with a celebration of life on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 11:00 am both at Donelson Funeral Chapel.
