Obituary for H. Douglas Banks

H. Douglas Banks
BANKS, Herbert Douglas

Doug passed away suddenly Saturday June 10, 2017 at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in Bracebridge. Beloved husband of 61 years to Donna. Loving father of Ken (Shirley), Ron (Janet), Paul (Debra), Nancy, and Andrew (Shari Neville). Proud grandfather of Harrison, Emily, Jordan and Sydney. Dear brother of Don (Rosemary), Lorna Stevenson (Wayne) and the late Glen Banks (Lucy). Remembered lovingly by extended family Beth Stewart and her daughters (granddaughters to Doug) Brenna and Delaney. Doug loved music, pets and good food. As a lifelong resident of Bracebridge and co-owner of Banks Brothers’ TV and Electronics he was a well-known and respected member of the community. A proud achievement for Doug was the building of his family home on the Muskoka River. He devoted much of his spare time to music; most recently singing with Muskoka Men of Song and playing trumpet with the Gravenhurst Bifocals Concert Band.
Friends will be received at Reynolds Funeral Home Turner Chapel on Friday June 16, 2017 from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. and at Pinegrove Fellowship Church on Saturday June 17, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow the service.
As your expression of sympathy, memorial donations to support the Muskoka Men of Song - Bursary Fund or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated. Messages of condolence can be left for Doug’s family at www.reynoldsfuneral.com
