Obituary for James A. "Brud" Williams Jr.

James A. "Brud"  Williams Jr.
James A. “Brud” Williams, Jr., 75, of 10 E. Maple Ave., Morrisville, NY, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017 at his home.
He was born June 9, 1942 in Canastota, NY, a son of James A., Sr. and Olive Graves. He was a graduate of Morrisville High School in 1960 and Cornell University in 1964. Brud married Ellen Lyndon on July 11, 1964. She predeceased him on May 26, 2010. Brud was a self-employed dairy farmer in Peterboro, and had also been a salesman for the Upjohn Co., and for Morrisville Motors. He was also a bus driver, and then the director of transportation for the Morrisville-Eaton Central School district.
Brud was a member of the Smithfield and Morrisville Fire Departments. He had served as a Fire Commissioner and helped to set up the area fire districts. He enjoyed golfing and loved to socialize.
Surviving are his children, David and Emily Williams of Charlotte, NC; James A., III and his significant other Nancy Benedict of Morrisville; grandchildren, Sierra Williams of Earlville; James A. Williams, IV of Morrisville; John Peters of Canastota and Renee (Brett) Walters of Morrisville; 6 great-grandchildren; and a sister and brother-in-law, Ruth Ann and Howard Lyndon of Red Wing, MN.
Graveside services will be held at 10am Saturday, June 17, 2017 in the Peterboro Cemetery.
There will be a reception at Brud’s home following the service.
