WATERBURY- Carmelo Soto age 87 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 15, 2017 after an extended illness. He was the husband of Tomasa (Valentin) Soto.
Carmelo was born on December 14, 1929 in Arecibo Puerto Rico the son of the late Eladio Soto. He worked for many years as a custodian and loved to garden. He was an accomplished guitar player.
Besides his wife of 55 years, Carmelo leaves his children; daughters, Margarita Soto of Puerto Rico, Aixa Soto of Waterbury and Madeline Sepulveda of California, his sons; Carmelo Soto Jr of Puerto Rico and Eddie Soto of Florida. He also leaves his grandchildren: Elisa, Melanie, Richard, Daniel, Christina, JR, Jahaira, Cecilia and Yadel. In addition to his great grandchildren, Lonnie, (Jo Jo), Jaylene. He was predeceased by his grandson Domenic L. Soto.
Funeral services for Mr. Soto will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 5:30 pm. at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd. Waterbury. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
