Lucille S Gosk, passed away at home on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the age of 96 after a brief illness.
She was born in Elmira NY on August 21,1920 and was the daughter of the late Henry Avery and Mildred McCoy Avery.
She was married to John J Gosk in Elmira NY and they moved to Poughkeepsie NY in 1960. He predeceased her on December 15 2002.
Lucille started working at DC Boces in the Cosmetology Program where she proudly wrote a book about all aspects of cosmetology. She worked for DC Boces and Poughkeepsie High School and retired in November 1978. Many of her students still have fond memories of being taught by her.
Lucille was an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling. She left her mark on everyone she met. Being a happy and fun-loving person, she always had a joke, one-liner, tongue twister or short song to sing, and many of them will never be forgotten. She was a beautiful person both inside and out and she will be sorely missed.
Lucille is survived by long time friend and caretaker, Brian Lawrence who she always considered to be like a son to her and his son, Gavin. Jo-Ann Lawrence also cared for her for many years.
Lucille had one son, Bartholomew Lynch of Godley TX. One Grandchild, Christopher Lynch and 2 Great Granddaughters, Samantha Lynch and Jessica Lynch of Fort Worth TX.
Lucille’s wish was to be cremated and her ashes will be interred with her husband at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY. At her request, there will be no calling hours.
