Obituary for John M. Waite
John M. Waite, 57, of Lewisberry, passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
Born on July 20, 1959 in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late William F. and Jean A. (Robinson) Waite.
John was a Machine Operator for Ames True Temper in Camp Hill. John loved classic rock, acoustic music and singing and playing guitar, in his bands, The Huckleberries, and The Blue Marlins. John loved Jerry Garcia, and has been to dozens of Grateful Dead concerts. John could make anyone smile with his warm heart and huge hugs. He was also a devoted Minnesota Vikings fan.
John is survived by his wife of 26 years, Joan E. (Wells) Waite; two daughters, Lauren J. Waite, of Lemoyne, and Elizabeth A. Waite of Lewisberry; two brothers, David Waite and his wife Joan, of Colorado, and Paul Waite and his wife Angie, of Dillsburg; three sisters, Mary Ann Waite, of West Chester, Donna Goodell, of Lewisberry, and Rose Miller, of Lisburn. John also leaves behind his beloved pets, his dogs, Jem and Ella, and his cat, Daisy.
A celebration of John’s life will be held Friday June 23, 2017 at 5:00 PM in the Myers-Harner Funeral Home, 1903 Market St., Camp Hill. A visitation with his family will be held in the funeral home on Friday from 3:00 P.M. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers the family requested that memorial contribution may be made to Helen Krause, www.helenkrause.org, or to Speranza Dog Rescue, www.speranzarescue.org.
