Eleanor A. Allen 89, formerly of DeWitt Street, Amsterdam, NY; passed away Monday morning June 19, 2017 at River Ridge Living Center in Amsterdam.

Born on December 6, 1927, she was the daughter of the late William and Marie Livingston Faulds.

Eleanor was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch Senior High School in 1945 and was a homemaker

Eleanor was a lifelong member of the Amsterdam United Methodist Church.

Eleanor was married to John J Allen Jr., on June 28, 1946. He passed away November 11, 2003.

Eleanor is survived by three sons, Richard Allen (Dawn), John “Jack” Allen III (Jean) all of Amsterdam, and Mark Allen (Regina) of Mountain Top, PA; one daughter, Lynn Besser (Randy) of Fayetteville, NC; ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Eleanor was also predeceased by her brother, Thomas Faulds and her sister, Ethel Savoie.

Cremation was held at Park View Crematorium.

Private funeral services will be held Saturday June 24, 2017 with Rev. Judith Humphrey-Fox officiating.

Inurnment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fort Johnson, NY.
