Obituary for Melinda G. Slaybaugh (Lee)
Melinda G. Slaybaugh, 56, of Newville, passed away Friday, June 23, 2017 in Holy Spirit Hospital.
Born Friday, August 12, 1960 in Inverness County, Nova Scotia, Canada, she was a daughter of the late Robert H. and Gloria Joan Burke Lee.
Melinda loved flowers and worked as a florist most of her working career. She ran a very successful floral and craft business. Melinda was a social member of the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223, Shippensburg.
She was a very kind hearted soul who always put others before herself and took such great pride in her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 17 years, Roger F. Slaybaugh, Newville, four children; Melissa S. (husband Robert) LeLacheur, Bradley J. (wife Angela) Beaton, all of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Jenna-Leigh (fiance Shane Kline) Ott, Newville, and Travis D. Beaton, New York, NY; three step children, Kelly F. Slaybaugh, WV, Diane M. (husband Derrick) Beasley, Thomasville, and Roger L. (wife Kayleigh) Slaybaugh, York, 15 grandchildren; Shayla, Caleb, Noah, Ryan, Claire, Lauren, Emma, Abby, Hope, Kody, Ben, Faith, Gwen, Colin and Aubree, one brother; and two sisters.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister and one grandson.
Services and burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Penn State Children’s Hospital, 600 University Drive, Hershey, PA 17033.
