Obituary for Michael Royce Gavan
Michael Royce Gavan was born in Essex, England and moved with his family to the United States when he was 8 years old.
Mike grew up in Concord and was a veteran of the Army National Guard. He also worked at BART for 31 years and retired in 2004. Mike loved to stay in touch with his former coworkers, family and friends. He was an avid horseman, collected Lionel trains, enjoyed watching sports – especially the Giants, and spending time with his family.
The family takes comfort in knowing he was able to remain at home with his family.
Mike is survived by his wife Sandie; children Theresa Webb, Sherry Simpkins, Michael S. Gavan, and Melanie Chrobot; and seven grandchildren: Devon, Nolan, and Grayson Givens, Nicole and Andrew Webb, and Megan and Maxwell Chrobot.
