Life Story for Edgar C. Grove
Edgar C. Grove, 93, a resident of Menno Haven, Chambersburg, formerly of the Shippensburg area, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2017 in the home.
He was born April 24, 1924 in Chambersburg, PA. Edgar was a son of the late Harry and Hazel Mummert Grove.
He was a member of the Mowersville Brethren in Christ Church, Newburg and in the past he was active in various positions. Edgar was a member of the PA Farm Bureau and was a 1943 graduate of the former Shippensburg High School.
He is survived by his wife or 71 years, Annie E. Bert Grove; five children, Ronald L. (Nancy) Grove of Newburg, Joyce E. (Gerald) Baker of Carlisle, Marlene F. (M. Joseph) Reese, Robert E. (Linda) Grove and Dennis E. (Virginia) Grove all of Shippensburg; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 30, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the Mowersville Brethren in Christ Church with The Revs. David S. Halteman and Darrell L. Potteiger officiating. Burial will be in the Norland Cemetery, Chambersburg. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Shippensburg and one hour prior to the services in church on Friday.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Mowersville Brethren in Christ Church Building Fund, 14924 West Creek Road, Newburg, PA 17240.
