Obituary for MaryAnne DesRoches (Adelgais)

MaryAnne Adelgais DesRoches, age 83 of Bridgeport, loving wife of 53 years to Wilfred F. DesRoches passed away on Wednesday June 28, 2017 with her family by her side. Born in Teaneck, NJ., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Anne Reeve Adelgais. She was a Bridgeport resident since 1969, she was a registered nurse at St. Vincent Hospital in the 70’s and 80’s then was employed at Barnett Health Care Center and devoted her last years doing private duty for ALS patients. A patriotic and faithful scout leader, she was involved in the District Commission and a scout trainer, she received the silver Beaver Award, the highest award given to an individual recognizing her dedicated service to the scouts.
Survivors in addition to her husband include her three sons: William DesRoches of Bridgeport, Thomas DesRoches of Tampa, FL. and James DesRoches of Trumbull, two grandchildren Autumn and Lila, two sisters Terry Adelgais and Karen Vasiliou, both of Saddle Brook, N.J., a brother Arden Adelgais of Vista, CA, several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will take place TODAY, Thursday June 29, 2017 from 4 to 7pm in the Commerce Hill Funeral Home, 4798 Main St. Bridgeport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11am in Our Lady of The Assumption Church, Fairfield followed by interment in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport.
