Stephen D. Dalsheim, 89 of Wappingers Falls, NY, passed away on June 30, 2017 at Vassar Bros. Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. He was born on August 24, 1927 in the Bronx, NY, the son of Morris & Sylvia Blumenkrohn Dalsheim. Stephen married Olga I. Jakobs on October 20, 1956 in the Bronx, NY. She survives at home.
While working for the New York State Corrections Department he became a Superintendent and Warden of Ossining Correctional Facility in Ossining, NY and Downstate Correctional Facility in Fishkill, NY.
Stephen was a World War II US Navy Veteran. He was an avid reader who enjoyed all sports especially tennis and was a NY Yankees and NY Giants fan.
Survivors include his daughter: Alisa Dalsheim of Ithaca, NY; daughter: Joyce Dalsheim and husband Rafi Kahane of Davidson, NC and son: Roy(Shari) Dalsheim of Needham, MA. Grandchildren include: Stephanie, Daniella, Edan and Ziev. There are several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 2 brothers.
Services will be Monday, July 3, 2017 at 11 AM in the Wm. G. Miller & Son FH, Inc., 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. Burial will follow in the family plot in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
