Obituary for Arrene Sanders Brown

Arrene Sanders Brown, age 78, of Meadowview, Va., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 01, 2017, at Johnston Memorial Hospital.

She was born May 5, 1939, in Washington County, Va., to the late Garland and Mary Sanders. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, James (Jay) Henry Brown; one brother, Estel “Eck” Sanders; two sisters-in-law, Betty Sanders and Betty Vencill; one brother-in-law, Homer Vencill and one nephew, Eddie Vencill.

Arrene worked for many years at Harwood Maufacturing and was a longtime member of Gospel Tabernacle. She enjoyed cooking and was an avid bird and bell collector. Arrene will be remembered for her love of life and laughter.

Survivors include one son, Rickey S. Brown of Meadowview, Va.; one brother, Oakley Sanders (Ethel Caudill) of Meadowview, Va.; two nieces, Cara Melton and Pat Vencill of Richlands, Va.; and two nephews, Bob Vencill of Richmond, Va., and Guy Vencill of Richlands, Va.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m., Monday, July 3, 2017, at Knollkreg Memorial Park with Pastor David Robins officiating. Family and friends are asked to gather at the cemetery by 2:45 p.m.

Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Gospel Tabernacle.
