Lily Earlene Skains was born December 15, 1941and passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2017. Funeral services will be held at Shaffer Funeral Home’s Sherwood Way Chapel in San Angelo on July 7, 2017 at 2 p.m. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home/Sherwood Way.
She is survived by her husband, Pete Skains; her brother, Charles Smith; and her children, Diana Arteaga and David Skains. She has four grandchildren, Chris Green, Tara Wagoner, Samantha Skains and Rosa Rodela; and five great grandchildren, Rebecca Green, Luke Wagoner, Addi, Nolyn, and Gracilyn Feemster.
Earlene was born and raised in Sonora, Texas, then spent the majority of her life in San Angelo. She held several jobs throughout her life, such as the personnel manager at Kmart and a reserve Tom Green County Deputy Sheriff. She had a passion for the outdoors where she enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. She also enjoyed arts and crafts, like sewing and crochet. She loved music, parties and playing 42. She will be most remembered for her love of people, sense of humor and generous spirit.
